Advance works in the Gardens

Prior to restoration work starting in Chiswick House Gardens at the end of March, a limited programme of advance work to trees will be taking place in the Camellia Shrubbery and along the western side of the River.

This will not only help to improve the water quality of the River, which is currently poor but will also mean that a much wider range of plants can be grown in the Camellia Shrubbery.

These works will begin week commencing 18 February and last for around two weeks.

The timing has been very carefully chosen to take account of the bird nesting season and the end of bat hibernation. On-site inspections by an ecologist will take place throughout this phase of work.

The tree works will involve fencing off certain areas of the gardens from time to time in the vicinity of the Camellia Shrubbery and the River.

The Chiswick House and Gardens Trust apologises for any inconvenience this may cause to park visitors.

If you have any queries, please contact the Park Manager, Richard Gill or the Head Gardener, Fiona Crumley on 0208 742 3905.
