Nigel Fox, who went on to be a musician, recalls getting John Lennon's autograph.
"The Beatles came out of the Conservatory right in front of us! I was gobsmacked and we walked through the gardens with them towards John's mini (a Radford conversion with blacked out windows ) and I got his autograph!
I was 17 and in the lower sixth science form. Most of the school bunked off, but I was so conscientious that I returned to school for the afternoon lessons and went on to become a scientist and now jazz pianist!"
