A Cracking-Good Time at Easter

Thank you to everyone who came along to Chiswick House and Gardens over the Easter weekend making the events such a success.

Thank you to everyone who came along to Chiswick House & Gardens over the Easter weekend and helped to make the first in our new programme of events such as great success

Over 400 families came to join in our Easter Children's events sponsored by Cath Kidston over the two days, joining in the activities organised by Greta Clough and her troupe of actors and musicians

Each day began with an Easter bonnet parade along the avenue to the rear of the House.

‘Hats off’ to our winners

Sunday April 4th Leah Levman aged 4 who won a personalised gift set donated by Emma Bridgewater of Devonshire Road

Monday April 5th Mathilda Littlemore aged 4 who won a family ticket for a stage performance of Guess How Much I Love You, donated by Walker Books

Visitors also took part in the Guess How Much I Love You Easter egg trail as well as a Teddy Bear’s Picnic. After lunch groups were led through the wilderness for a special rendition of We’re All Going on a Bear Hunt, although it has been reported that no bears were found. Our day concluded with The Tale of Peter Rabbit and a special guest appearance by Beatrix Potter’s famous character himself. (We were also told that the original Peter Rabbit was bought in Shepherd’s Bush market.)

One visitor wrote, 'I just wanted to write and let you know what a wonderful time that my two charges had at the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday. All the staff were absolutely wonderful, especially the lady that played the role of Goldilocks, whose team we were in for the hunt. She was so lovely and made the  hunt the joyful event that it should be. So please extend our thanks to her.'

On a final note, if anyone has found any sheep could they please let Little Bo Peep know. She’s still out there somewhere in the Gardens looking for them...
