Northern Wilderness

Native trees and shrubs have been introduced, and the bat roosts protected.

The historic stone Rustic Gate entrance which leads from the car park into the gardens has been unblocked and restored, allowing entry along a yew lined alley to the gardens behind Chiswick House as well as entry to the Northern Wilderness – a delightful series of serpentine paths in woodland.

Some trees have been removed in this wild area to allow more light to get into the garden and to reduce overcrowding.

Native trees and shrubs have been reintroduced between the paths and bat roosts have been protected and enhanced.
