Along with falling leaves, chestnuts and chill winds, autumn brings pumpkins, root vegetables and the instinctive desire for comfort cooking.
Join us for richly savoury pasta bakes including roast pumpkin, spinach and emmenthal, and ever-popular lasagne. Our daily-changing soups and stews, served with bread, cheese and fruit, are deeply-flavoured and wonderfully fortifying.
Looking for something healthy? The salad counter has spiced cauliflower and lentil salad with minted yogurt, as well as succulent hot-smoked salmon with beetroot and horseradish cream.
Next, why not treat yourself to waffles with maple syrup and vanilla ice cream? Kids love these too, and with the reassuringly familiar dishes on our children’s menu, a visit to Chiswick House Café makes the perfect conclusion to an autumn ramble with the family.
About the Café
The new Chiswick House Café opened its doors on 1 February 2010, serving delicious sandwiches, soups and the best of modern British cooking to local residents and visitors. The café plays a significant role in the restoration and transformation of one of the most important landscapes in Britain.
Designed by award-winning architects Caruso St John, the contemporary space looks out on the magnificent gardens and neo-Palladian villa, surely one of the best settings in the capital. In 2011 the Café received three RIBA awards including London Building of the Year.
Seating 60 indoors, with space for a further 80 outdoors, the Café offers a wide selection of refreshments throughout the day, as well as catering for private functions in the evening.
The friendly staff at Chiswick House Café are led by a general manager from Company of Cooks.
Private event hire, for celebrations such as birthdays and anniversaries, can be arranged in the Café in the evenings for up to 100 people. Enquiries should be directed to the Events team using the form below.
With the exception of assistance dogs, dogs are not allowed inside the café and must be kept on a short lead in the vicinity of the café building. The café has a covered seated terrace where dog owners with their pets are most welcome to enjoy the new facility.
